Auditions are a rite of passage for every serious dancer. Preparation is what turns nerves into focused energy on the day.
Choose repertoire that showcases your strengths and range. A classical variation, a contemporary solo and an improvisation segment are common requirements. Make sure your music is edited, labelled and cued.
Attire should be clean, fitted and appropriate for each discipline. Avoid logos, jewellery and anything that distracts from your movement. Bring spare shoes, a snack and a calm mindset.
Finally, respect the panel. Enter with confidence, listen carefully and thank them before you leave. The audition room is a professional space — treat it like one.
